More Snow in Sevastopol

Today was a snowy and discouraging day for us as our kids were ill and bedridden. When we arrived at the orphanage, the caretakers urged us to stop in to only say hello then depart, which we did. The kids seem to have colds or flu with high fevers so we worry about their well-being. It was hard to leave them and difficult to see them in such discomfort. We missed our special time together, which we treasure greatly. Hopefully they will be ok, but as new parents we are inexperienced and can't help but worry. After kissing and hugging them many times, we left. Then, with heavy hearts, we headed for the market to find some sustenance for ourselves. We bought what veggies and fruits we could find and trudged home through the icy streets. Sorry for the Dr. Zhivago theme running through this post, but it has just been one of those days!!!

On the brighter side, we learned from our facilitator that the Interpol requirement may not be as time-consuming as we feared, so we have that hope to cling to to keep our spirits up.

The photo is another shot of one of the extraordinary murals from the orphanage.

Bless you all for your expressions of love and support... David and Lorelle

  1. Hi! Just checking in here and getting caught up. I do hope you are not there an extra 45 days. Let's keep focusing on the positive! I hope the girls are feeling better soon. We miss you here in grey and cool (but no snow), Cincinnati.
    Love,

  2. WOW! That is really great news..... I will keep hoping for the best.... Sorry to hear the girls are ill. Hopefully they will let you drop off healthy treats and goodies! I'm sure you have heard all of the stories of Ukranians and their overprotective nature..... Hopefully the girls won't be "quarantined" too long. Take your airborne and get some rest! Pam

  4. Glad to hear that maybe the routine check by Inerpol may go fairly soon. Sorry about the girls being sick. But with all my parental wisdom gained by watching two perfect children grow up I observed that children usually recover quite quickly. Bet that will be true in this case. Love, DAD
